Mengenal Poltek Nuklir Indonesia
Politeknik Teknologi Nuklir Indonesia yang dulunya Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Nuklir BATAN (STTN-BATAN) merupakan perguruan tinggi kedinasan yang diselenggarakan oleh Badan Tenaga Nuklir Nasional dan Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional. Poltek Nuklir ini satu-satunya perguruan tinggi vokasi di Indonesia yang menghasilkan tenaga profesional Sarjana Terapan dalam bidang teknologi nuklir. Politeknik Teknologi Nuklir Indonesia berlokasi di Jalan Babarsari Kotak POB 6101/YKKB, Ngentak, Caturtunggal, Kecamatan Depok, Kabupaten Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta 55281 Kab. Sleman Provinsi D.I. Yogyakarta.
Sekolah Tingi Teknologi Nuklir termasuk perguruan tinggi kedinasan yang masih menggunakan sistem ikatan dinas dan menyediakan asrama untuk seluruh mahasiswa. Pada tanggal 9 November 2007, tiga program studi yang diselenggarakan oleh Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Nuklir telah mendapatkan Sertifikat Akreditasi BAN-PT dengan peringkat “B”, akreditasi tersebut berlaku selama lima tahun. Kemudian pada tahun 2012, Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Nuklir melakukan re-akreditasi untuk ketiga program studi tersebut dan berhasil mendapatkan akreditasi “B” kembali untuk lima tahun ke depan.
Sejarah Poltek Nuklir Indonesia
Politeknik Teknologi Nuklir Indonesia (Poltek Nuklir) merupakan perguruan tinggi vokasi di bidang nuklir di bawah Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional (BRIN). Poltek Nuklir merupakan perubahan bentuk yang ketiga dari perjalanan kelembagaan sebuah perguruan tinggi yang didirikan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan dan meningkatkan sumber daya manusia yang terdidik dan profesional di bidang teknologi nuklir.
Pertama kali berdiri dengan nama Pendidikan Ahli Teknik Nuklir (PATN) pada tahun 1985, kemudian PATN berubah menjadi Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Nuklir (STTN) berdasarkan Keputusan Presiden No 71 Tahun 2001 dan Keputusan Kepala BATAN nomor 360/KA/VII/2001 tanggal 5 Juni 2001 tentang Organisasi dan Tata Kerja STTN. STTN berubah menjadi Poltek Nuklir, diresmikan oleh Kepala BRIN (Dr. Laksana Tri Handoko) pada tanggal 30 Oktober 2021 berdasarkan Peraturan BRIN RI No 13 Tahun 2021 tentang Organisasi dan Tata Kerja Poltek Nuklir. Perguruan Tinggi Diploma IV ini menyelenggarakan 3 (tiga) Program Studi yaitu Teknokimia Nuklir, Elektronika Instrumentasi dan,Elektro Mekanika, dengan gelar Sarjana Terapan Teknik (STr.T).

“Menjadikan Politeknik Teknologi Nuklir Indonesia Yogyakarta sebagai Perguruan Tinggi Vokasi Teknologi Nuklir berdaya saing global”
Misi
- Menyelenggarakan pendidikan vokasi di bidang ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi nuklir
- Mengembangkan penelitian dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat di bidang ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi nuklir yang inovatif
- Memperkuat kelembagaan dengan menyelenggarakan tata kelola perguruan tinggi yang akuntabel, transparan, efektif, efisien, dan bermutu
- Memperkuat dan mengembangkan jejaring serta kemitraan nasional dan internasional yang relevan.

- Menghasilkan lulusan yang kompeten, berkarakter, berintegritas dan bermartabat, serta mampu bersaing di tingkat internasional
- Menghasilkan penelitian dan perekayasaan yang dimanfaatkan oleh dunia usaha, dunia industri, dan masyarakat
- Mewujudkan budaya akademik dan organisasi yang mendorong pengembangan sivitas Akademika secara optimal dalam menyelenggarakan tridharma perguruan tinggi
- Mewujudkan kerja sama dengan berbagai pihak dalam dan luar negeri untuk peningkatan kompetensi dan kepakaran Sivitas Akademika dan lulusan
- Mewujudkan tata kelola perguruan tinggi yang akuntabel, transparan, efektif, efisien, dan bermutu.
Jurusan dan Prodi Poltek Nuklir Indonesia
Jurusan Teknofisika Nuklir
Jurusan Teknofisika merupakan pengembangkan bidang ilmu fisika terapan yang secara khusus mempelajari bagaimana proses nuklir tersebut berlangsung, serta mengukur dan mengendalikannya. Terdapat dua program studi dalam jurusan teknofisika nuklir, yaitu:
- Program Studi Elektronika Instrumentasi
- Program Studi Elektro Mekanika
Jurusan Teknokimia Nuklir
Program Studi D4 Teknokimia Nuklir merupakan jurusan untuk pengembangan rekayasa proses kimia terutama dalam proses kimia bahan nuklir dan proses kimia termasuk teknologi untuk pemisahan kimia dan radionukliuda, pengelolaan limbah, untuk mencapai sistem energi nuklir berkelanjutan. Mata kuliah dalam program studi Diploma IV Teknokimia Nuklir dirancang mengacu pada kompetensi teknik kimia terutama proses kimia bahan nuklir dan kimia radiasi

Biaya Kuliah Poltek Nuklir Indonesia
Dengan adanya perubahan nama menjadi Politeknik Teknologi Nuklir Indonesia, Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional (BRIN) mengeluarkan kebijakan tidak memungut biaya operasional kuliah pada mahasiswa, mulai dari biaya pendaftaran mahasiswa baru hingga uang kuliah yang harus dibayarkan setiap semester selama masa studi di Politeknik Teknologi Nuklir Indonesia. Kebijakan 0 Rupiah ini adalah dalam rangka membuka kesempatan yang lebih luas lagi bagi mahasiswa yang memiliki minat atau passion yang kuat untuk belajar tentang nuklir, namun memiliki keterbatasan ekonomi.
